As a symbol of Burgundy, the blackcurrant is a well consumed fruit, that is mostly preferred as “crème de cassis” (blackcurrant liqueur). However, its various qualities and all of its other uses are not very common in France. Even the fruit itself is totally unknown in some parts of the world.
Le Cassissium is a museum that is exclusively dedicated to this little black-berry. Its main purpose is to show it to the world in all of its forms. This place was established by the liqueur producing company “Védrenne”, allowing people to discover its original know-how. The production site is open for visitors as a part of the visit.
